How to take Silhouette Photographs

Silhoutte photography is the art of creating the outline of the subject.The Back light of the subject is the most important thing.That the effect of back light gives the wounderful silhouette photographs.
These back light of the subject gives the shadow like images that results the silhouette images.

This image is taken at kanyakumari(tamil nadu). The statue of Thiruvalluvar. with my nikon D3300 DSLR.




camera settings:
Lens : 18-55mm
Aperture : f/8
Mode : manual mode
Shutter speed : 1/500
Post processing with : snapseed,picsarts (mobiles)
TIPS :
  • Set your camera in to manual mode.
  • Change the aperture to f/8,for the deep depth of field.
  • Focus on the back light while your subject is darker.
  • Set as normal shutter speed between (1/150-1/500)seconds.
  • After taking the image post process that by using the apps like snapseed,light room,picsart, photoshop etc.
  • If you are using the mobile then simply focus on the light and take the image.if your mobile have manual (pro)mode then follow the above settings.
